5 Rapid Transformational Therapy Benefits

Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) embraces many of the positive aspects of hypnosis and hypnotherapy that are known to produce a transformative effect on clients: the use of relaxation, regression and hypnotic conditioning. It is considered a neuroscience-based therapeutic approach that combines the most beneficial principles of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, neurolinguistic programming, and cognitive behavioral therapy. RTT goes beyond traditional hypnotherapy, diagnosing what works with real clients in real sessions to build a new therapeutic approach.

The founder of the method, Marisa Peer, identified that regardless of their issue, in sessions clients benefitted from her applying a particular set of techniques over and over again. These insights provided the foundations for Rapid Transformational Therapy to emerge as a distinctive approach.

If you are looking for a modality to improve your mental health or have been in talk therapy for years with no significant improvements, an RTT session will get you where you are wanting to go. RTT can be used for a myriad of issues – from anxiety, depression, to fear of flying, to emotional eating, to weight loss, and addictive behaviors, to Type A neuroticism, to failure to meet goals, to confidence in business or chronic physical conditions… if there is a belief system at play in your subconscious mind, RTT can help.

As RTT practitioners, we know that clients are time starved and come to us in pain, both physical or emotional. You want rapid results. RTT aims to deliver permanent change in a single 90-120 minute session, although some clients and some issues will need up to 3 sessions.

In addition to the breadth of areas RTT can address and the efficiency of the modality itself, RTT offers plenty of other benefits as well.

5 Rapid Transformational Therapy Benefits

1. It allows you to become aware and familiar with the root cause of your issue

One of the things I love about RTT is that it assists you in uncovering the meaning and interpretation of certain events throughout your life that have been limiting you. When we go back in a relaxed setting to the most pivotal moments of our lives where certain beliefs were formed, we can figure out why our subconscious mind has been limiting us in certain ways. This awareness alone is priceless as it helps you to see that the past version of you is not the present version of you. This happens immediately in the session so you can leave knowing exactly the root cause of the issue you are struggling with.

2. It helps you to connect to your inner child

Another benefit of RTT is that it allows you to connect to your “inner child,” that inner piece of you that so desperately wants to be heard. I tell all my clients that I don’t care how great of a childhood you had - your parents or caregivers could not give you what you needed 24/7. I say that as a parent myself - no matter how hard I try, I am not a mind reader and know that I miss needs of my own children at times. This part of the therapy helps us to reconnect to that younger version of us that still needs certain things and affirmations, and empowers you to give that inner child what he or she still needs in this moment. This part of the therapy is extremely powerful for clients as the realize the power they have within themselves.

3. You can see changes immediately, retroactively or cumulatively

Another benefit of RTT is the ways in which you can see changes. For some people, change will be experienced immediately within the session. For others, they will listen to their personalized meditation for a period of time and then look back one day and realize how much they have changed. And yet, for others, they will experience change cumulatively over time. Perhaps a friend or family member alerts them one day to how much they have changed, without the person even realizing how much they have shifted. Many times, clients experience a combination of immediate change with certain aspects of the belief system and either cumulative or retroactive change as they continue listening to the personalized meditation.

4. It allows an immediate release of stored emotions

I suggest always having a box of tissues handy when in an RTT session. What people don’t realize is how much they have stored up emotionally over the years that has been sitting in their bodies on a cellular level. When in session, the safety and support that is created in session allows for the release of these emotions. Whether it is grief, anger, or just general hurt, you have the space to heal these wounds forever.

5. RTT provides sustainable change in just a few sessions

My favorite benefit of RTT is that it creates sustainable, long-lasting change in just a few sessions. In a 2007 Comparative Study by American Health Magazine, standard hypnotherapy found a 93% success after 6 sessions. The RTT organization that trains practitioners is conducting research presently, and what has been reflected, on average, is the need for 2-3 sessions to address an issue. In my experience, one session has been enough for helping clients move through certain conditions that would be considered “less severe,” but I do have repeat clients who have been so happy with the initial results of their session that they come back to me to address other pressing issues! Nobody wants to endure therapy sessions for years on end trying to work through their “stuff.”  RTT shortens this process tremendously.
