Affirmations can have a powerful effect on your life. However, there are guidelines for writing affirmations for yourself, a list of do’s and don’ts, to maximize their power.
An affirmation works to program your psyche toward the expressed idea. This is based on the notion that the psyche doesn't know the distinction between what is genuine and what is fantasy. When you watch a movie and you begin to giggle or cry, your brain is sympathizing with the characters on the screen even though it is just Hollywood entertainment. There are both positive and negative examples of this. Perhaps you can recall being told by an educator, parent or mentor that you wouldn't be able to accomplish something, or you were unattractive or undesirable. Unfortunately, these negative affirmations can remain for us for far too long.
Here are a few ground rules for writing effective affirmations. Follow them as you write.
Gratitude reinforces positivity and affirmations should be recited daily. Appreciation for specific things can transform over time. There may be times when you must re-evaluate what you appreciate about a situation, or re-adjust your gratitude perspective.
SOME AFFIRMATIONS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE:
WHY AFFIRMATIONS ARE SO IMPORTANT TO GRATITUDE.
Affirmations bring awareness to your daily thoughts, reducing your negativity. It helps you to notice more in your life. Daily affirmations not only broaden your perspective but keep you focused on the practice. Regular recitation keeps the little things in context. A simple morning declaration of, “I am solid” can go far. As you practice your gratitude, people around you will notice and will benefit from you.
